The setup had potential with the haunted haveli and disappearing brides legend. First half builds decent unease with the eerie location and eccentric locals. Production design is impressive, and the mythology elements from Vedas and Mahabharata are interesting.

But the runtime feels excessive at nearly three hours. The second half shifts abruptly from horror to comedy, and the humor mostly falls flat. Twists become predictable early on, and the climax feels stretched.

Overall, it's watchable for nostalgia with the Priyadarshan-Akshay reunion, but the hotchpotch story and forced logic hold it back. Commercial success makes sense for mass appeal, but as a film, it's decent yet underwhelming.

This movie was a mind game that fumbled badly. The core trauma of Sidney returning to her past horrors is fascinating, especially seeing her pass that final girl legacy to her daughter. The psychological manipulation angle with the Stu illusion was a clever twist, tapping into unresolved fears. Ghostface dialogues still deliver that killer psychology, but without smart victims to play against, it feels empty.

The film builds a tense atmosphere of suspicion that messes with your head. But the ending completely dropped the ball. After all that psychological buildup, leaving everything in uncertainty felt like a cop-out. The trauma was real, but the resolution was weak. It's like they set up this intense mind game and then walked away from the table.

The psychology between Mishra and Gupta was the real draw here. Their bond felt genuine, a complex trauma bond playing out in a cage of concrete and power dynamics. The first half sets up a fascinating study in manipulation within the prison hierarchy. The performances are strong, especially the subtle shifts in control between the guard and the inmate. Unfortunately, the mind game becomes predictable. Solid character work, though, the plot's psychology didn't dig deep enough.

Still, this film stays with you long after it ends.

It is a solid psychological survival drama. Not perfect, but intense enough to stay in your head after it ends.
