Arav Kapoor rated Dhurandhar: The Revenge
This movie delivers exactly what it promises. It's a high-octane spy thriller with relentless action and a clear mission. The plot is straightforward but executed with impressive scale. Ranveer Singh carries the film with a charged performance, and the sequences in Karachi have a gritty, authentic feel. The box office numbers speak for themselves. It's pure commercial cinema done right. My only gripe is that the runtime pushes it a bit. At three and a half hours, it could have been tighter. Still, a solid watch if you want a no-nonsense action spectacle.
Arav Kapoor rated Scream 7
Neve Campbell is solid as Sidney and the Ghostface scenes are tense, but the script is weak. The new characters are forgettable and the decisions they make are just dumb. It's a decent slasher with some good kills, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table. The plot feels like it's just going through the motions.
Arav Kapoor rated Black Phone 2
This movie missed the mark for me. It's supposed to be a horror sequel, but the plot felt thin. The supernatural angle was okay, but the so-called mind-bending elements were just predictable. Ethan Hawke was sinister, I'll give them that. The violence was graphic, almost too much, and didn't really add to the intelligence of the story. It's a competent horror flick, I guess, if you're into that. But as someone who appreciates clever scripts, this felt like a lot of noise without much substance. The emotional stuff at the end was fine, but overall, it's just mid.
Arav Kapoor rated 56 Days: S1
This show had terrible ROI. The concept was promising - finance guy meets girl, things go wrong, body shows up. But the execution was mid at best. They prioritized romance over actual thriller tension. The nonlinear storytelling felt disjointed, like watching two different shows. The changes from the book diluted what could have been a clever plot. The writing was mediocre, pacing was off. For something that should have been a tight, intelligent thriller, it felt like they forgot the actual business of suspense. The leads had chemistry, but that's not enough when the script isn't sha.....

Arav Kapoor rated Accused
The premise is sharp. A top gynecologist gets framed for misconduct, fighting bias in a system built against ambitious women. Konkona's performance is solid, and the tension builds well for most of the film. It's a smart psychological play on perception versus truth. But the script loses its nerve in the final act. The ending feels unresolved and timid, shying away from a proper legal or moral conclusion. It prioritizes emotional drama over the tighter, more intelligent thriller it promised to be. A decent watch with a frustrating finish.
Arav Kapoor rated The Night Agent: S3
The Night Agent Season 3 kicks off with a solid premise. Chasing a Treasury Agent with sensitive intel through Istanbul sets up a smart cat-and-mouse game. The dark money network plotline is compelling for anyone who enjoys financial thrillers. The action is tight and the stakes feel real. However, some of the twists feel a bit familiar if you've watched the previous seasons. The journalist subplot needs to avoid becoming a predictable trope. Overall, it's a sharp, efficient thriller that delivers on tension, even if the conspiracy mechanics aren't groundbreaking.
