Simran Singh rated Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
The plot twists felt predictable for a Peaky Blinders story. The suspense was there, but the climax didn't hit as hard as I expected. Tommy Shelby's character arc was solid, but some family conflicts dragged. Overall, it was decent but not mind-blowing.
Simran Singh rated 56 Days: S1
This show was a total mess. The twists were predictable from the start. I'm all for murder mysteries, but this felt like they forgot they were making a thriller halfway through. The past and present timelines were completely disjointed. The chemistry was there, but they leaned way too hard into the romance and erotic stuff at the expense of actual suspense. The climax was boring. It's like they had two different shows and mashed them together. For a psychological thriller, it had zero psychological depth. Mid TV at best.
Simran Singh rated Scream 7
Neve Campbell is fantastic as always, and Sidney's final girl energy still hits hard. The family stakes with her daughter added some real tension. But man, the writing is weak. The dialogue feels clunky, and some of the plot choices are just dumb. It has the gore and the legacy nods, but it lacks the clever wit that made the earlier Scream movies so good. Fun for a watch, but feels like it's going through the motions.
Simran Singh rated Black Phone 2
The twist with their mother was decent, but the overall plot felt predictable. The supernatural elements were handled okay, but the climax lacked the punch I expected from a good thriller. Too much gore for my taste, it overshadowed the psychological tension. Ethan Hawke was creepy though, I'll give them that.
Simran Singh rated The Night Agent: S3
The action scenes are sharp and the Istanbul chase starts strong. The plot twists feel predictable though, like I've seen this conspiracy formula before. The journalist arc has potential but already feels familiar. The climax needs to deliver something unexpected to make this season stand out.
Simran Singh rated Accused
As a murder mystery and thriller fan, I found this one predictable. The whole conspiracy framing plot felt obvious from the start. Konkona's performance was sharp, but the twists were weak. The climax completely fell apart in the last 15 minutes. Too much focus on emotional drama instead of the legal thriller elements it promised. Left me unsatisfied without proper resolution. Not the psychological tension I look for.
Simran Singh rated Mardaani 3
Rani Mukerji is convincing as always, but the plot was way too predictable. The villains lacked menace compared to the earlier films. The social relevance is there, but the twists felt forced and the story had holes. The action sequences were solid though, especially the finale. Overall, it held my attention but didn't deliver the suspense I expected from a Mardaani film.
